American Girl

Tomorrow is the 4th of July over here in the land of America and with that comes a sea of clothing in the patriotic colors! I put together two different looks, one casual and the other a more dressy look! I would also like to toss in that I hope everyone has a fun and SAFE 4th of July weekend! I know I will be doing lots of fireworks, grilling, time with friends and family, and drinks!
I kept the first look very casual, since this is most likely what I am going to be wearing tomorrow! A crop top and high waisted shorts are a girls best friend in the summer time (along with a sundress and SPF lotion)! I kept the look "girl next doorish" by wearing some old Converse.

Best part about this outfit? I made the shorts! I have a horrible time finding shorts that fit me the right way, so I always tend to find old mom jeans and make them my own. Why spend over $30 for a good pair when you can make your own for around $5!? I then taped off some sections and painting them red to look like stripes and the other side I did stars (very American, I know). This look will be killer for hanging out all day in the sun and finishing the night off with fireworks.

Now if you are going to a more dressed up event, a sundress and heels might be more ideal. I stuck with a nice length, just above the knee and paired it with strappy heels to give it some extra pizzazz. A small clutch finished it off.

I love this look because you can switch the heels out for sandals and make it a more casual look!

Once again, happy 4th to all of my American readers!!
